 Description
When I change the sorting method on tickets away from the default oldest-ticket-first view, Cerberus only remembers this setting for the duration of the current session. When I log in next, sorting returns to the default.

Joe@WGM:
See my comments about what happened, but since a customer already pointed out a still unfixed worklist in 'Workflow', I'm going to add any extra spots where this may need to be tweaked.

Home -> Notifications.

 I'm still seeing this bug in build 890 in the "Workflow" tab. Any customization I make (AND SAVE) will not show up on next login.

The "Search" tab works fine!

I don't know how this got into a closed milestone, considering this looks like a new issue. But Marc this has to be moved because otherwise the developers won't see it. Milestone #1 was closed out and won't be viewed anymore. I also see that this was a response to CHD-986 and I'm guessing you can't re-open bugs so you created this one. If you read what I said in my last 'verified' comment, I said "newer areas such as notifications" are not fixed (in hindsight I should have included Workflow literally in the text, I was including that as part of new).

I'm moving this to "unassigned" so Jeff can move it into a new milestone based on his judgment. I eventually may extend this issue to include a list of all possible areas, such as notifications list too. So keep an eye out.

Customized sorting and column choices aren't being saved in the 'Organization', 'People' tab at all. And this is more than just between sessions, clicking away and back again will reset things as well.

Edit: This was filed separately in CHD-881 last year, and is currently a 'wishlist' item.

(Eventually I need to go and check every worklist for this issue, but this is a reminder until I formalize a more "complete" bug.)

Same root problem.

CHD-973 inquired about the Requester History filters not saving. Closed that one out in favor of this issue.

Implemented for 4.3 (927+)

Was going through resolves and trying to verify this one.

Unfortunately the sorting order preference is only saved successfully in two spots: mail search and activity forums. Every other spot defaults back to the original setting usually an "updated date" of some sort like "created" or "log" date. I thought maybe removing those default columns would help, but it appears it simply reverts to no column sorting.

Other than that the column choices and rows per page preferences are saved everywhere, which is great! So I'm not going to close this one out for a bit until I find out what's up.

I think you may want to double check this one, as I can't get sorting column to save as I mentioned last time. Unless I'm missing something according to the GitHub commit log, 'Requester History' and 'Audit Log', were specifically mentioned as two areas that would save preferences.

* [Platform] [CHD-1129] All views/lists will now remember their worker-level customizations (columns, sorting, length) between logins. This works everywhere: for the major lists like Overview and Workflow, as well as utility lists like 'Requester History' and 'Audit Log'. This was likely the top usability complaint prior to 4.3, since custom fields being added as list columns is helpful, but tedious if you have to set them each day.

Hold up I had a complete mental lapse on this one. I forgot you have to click 'customize' and save every time you change sort columns. WIth that said let me go back and give it one more pass.

Note: I do think 'Audit Log' needs to be called out still, because it's unique in that there is no 'customize' link. So the Git commit log may be a tad misleading.

Comment by Joe Geck [WGM] [14/Sep/09 09:30 PM]
Ok now that I checked everything properly, I did find that Workspaces aren't saving the "sort by" preference. Doesn't seem to matter if what type it is (tickets, addresses, tasks) or how the worklist was created (copied or manually with the 'Add Worklist' button).

Hopefully I'm not somehow STILL missing something, but feel free to put the dunce cap on me ;)

Fixed the workspace sorting issue for 4.3 (937+)

Comment by Joe Geck [WGM] [16/Sep/09 06:11 PM]
Ok NOW I can finally sign off on this one. Workspaces "sort by" preferences are looking good, including worklists created from scratch AND worklists copied from other sections (you don't even need to click 'customize'->save before you 'copy').

As far as I can tell all worklists now save the big three customizations:

* rows per page
* columns
* 'sort by' (column) preference
