Summary:
Reporter does a great job explaining the use cases and how he envisions the feature, so here's a direct quote...
It would be great for me to be able to defer any messages assigned (or routed via rules) to me to someone else if I have specified that I'm not in the office. Alternatively, it would be nice to have messages intended for someone whose status is "on vacation" to be just dropped in the main queue.
Or, just automatically set the inactivity timer so that if the person is on vacation but logs in remotely, they won't miss work intended for them, but if they don't get to it while away it then times out and gets dumped back into the main inbox.
