Summary:
Tweaking filters through the normal 'Search' tab does keep your preferences, but once you run a quick search your sort by choice is dropped. This is the first reported "dead spot" after the 4.3 overhaul and seems kind of peculiar. Is this fixable?
Steps (provided by pk4):
1. click mail tab
2. on quicksearch (top right), search on a requester address
3. results are sorted oldest first, so click "Updated" header twice to resort with newest on top.
4. click "customize" and "save changes"
5. repeat #2 above
6. results are displayed as oldest on top, rather than newest on top as specified in #3
