The basic idea is to create marco's attached to buttons that the user can define for what is import to they user. Under 5.4 it doesn't look that hard.and can be done as a plug-in.

Examples the user suggested would be quick assignment of a ticket to someone else including setting custom fields and other things that one could do manually but does over and over again.
