[Safari/Opera] When adding E-mail Tokens the blinking cursor is placed in front of the tokens

Created: 15/Nov/07 04:38 PM   Updated: 12/Dec/08 07:52 PM
Fix Version/s: Sea of 1000 Wishes

Original Estimate: Unknown Remaining Estimate: Unknown Time Spent: Unknown

 Description
Summary:
Not so much a real problem other than an unexpected behavior. Feels odd when you are trying to add a signature and have to move the cursor forward everytime you add a token.

Steps:
1) Load up the Helpdesk in Safari or Opera
2) Go to one of the available screens where you can use E-mail Tokens. I believe these are in 3 spots.

* "Default E-mail Signature" ('configuration'->'mail')
* "Group E-mail Signature" ('my groups'->'configure')
* "New Ticket Auto-Response" ('my groups'->'configure')

Important Note: "Tokens" are also used in E-mail Reply Templates but do not behave this way, that is the cursor is placed after the token, and is consistent across all browsers.

3) Choose an E-mail token and observe the cursor placement in the text area

Result:
Cursor placed before the token unexpectedly.

Interestingly, inserting multiple tokens at once appends the later ones, but as soon as you start typing, it puts the typed text where the cursor is.

@Mike
I'm pretty sure you fixed this one too, but take a look and close this issue if it's done.

Yes, this is taken care of by the fix for CHD-933

Comment by Joe Geck [12/Dec/08 07:52 PM]
Verified fixed as of dev build 812.

Safari and Opera now place the cursor after the token as expected.
