When you reply to a thread, would it be possible to add 2 enters before the text so you have your cursor and an empty line before your reply? This is -I think- very convenient.

Note: dfroberg in the thread posted a simple workaround that we may want to consider before tweaking the Helpdesk.

I do this with checking insert signature before reply and adding two empty lines on top of it.

Things seem to work this way already.

I've reread this thread multiple times just to make sure I'm not misinterpreting what the problem is and I think this is actually still broken. In both Firefox and IE7 if you have not created a signature at all and do a reply, the cursor is in front of the quoted text on the same line (no line break). That is if you begin typing immediately you'd get:

Not sure if it's worth fretting over at this point but from what I can tell the issue reported is still occuring.

OK i just realized that the title of the bug is wrong and may lead to the confusion (at the time I wrote for some reason I misunderstood the bug). But after rereading the thread my first comment is correct it is wrong in light of the actual bug.

I'm editing it from

[Feature Request] On reply the text cursor is automatically set at the bottom of quoted text

to:

[Feature Request] On reply the text cursor is placed in front of quoted text on the same line without a line break.

Thanks for fixing the auto-focus feature on reply in 4.2.2. But, a couple of line breaks (as suggested here) would make it more elegant and save some keystrokes.
