Ticket Priorities and Color-coded Priority Labels

Created: 13/Aug/08 02:44 PM   Updated: 06/Jul/10 11:57 AM
Fix Version/s: An Ounce of Prevention

Original Estimate: Unknown Remaining Estimate: Unknown Time Spent: Unknown
Environment: software platform

Marquee: Mail, Usability

 Description
Similar to [outbound]/[inbound], there should be an option in properties that allows for labeling priority of the ticket. (e.g. Low[white], Medium[yellow], High[orange], Urgent[red]) and of course the ability to sort by those priority on a per-ticket basis as opposed to the service level per-org/address basis.

We originally stripped out the extraneous properties from tickets during Cerb4 development, but I have to confess I've been tempted a few times to set a higher priority on a ticket to call attention to it (especially if it had been sitting around for a while). Ideologically I still don't like the idea of having to juggle a bunch of properties per ticket, but this is probably something we can add back to the roadmap and think about setting in the 'Next Step' block on reply.

Howdy,

Maybe their could be an on/off option.

If a ticket is marked as "important" (or what ever you want to call it) it will be sent to the top of the list no matter what setting the staff member has setup for sort order. All other tickets will follow the rules (order by) settings the staff member has setup.

Thanks,
Adam

Custom fields can handle the 'priorities' part, but we'd need renderer plugins for views to handle row colorization.

"I would add a Priority column where Mask, Subject and Updated columns are with a color coded system. However, this wasn't in 2.7 so I recognize it's quite unlikely it'll get added."
